Terms of use

Last updated 13 October 2026

These terms are the agreement for using Folio. They say what you can expect from Folio and what Folio expects from you.

These terms

These terms are an agreement between you and Oluyi Adetomiwa Damilola, an individual based in Nigeria, who operates Folio. You can reach the operator at tomiwaoluyi@gmail.com.

By using Folio you accept these terms. If you do not accept them, please do not use Folio.

Who can use Folio

You must be 18 or over and able to enter a contract.

One account per person. A brand account must be opened by someone authorised to act for that brand.

Your account

Keep your password secret. You are responsible for what happens under your account.

If you think someone else is using your account, tell us at tomiwaoluyi@gmail.com.

Truthful profiles and verification

What you put on Folio must be true, and it must be yours.

Identity verification checks the documents you upload. It is not a guarantee of anyone's character or skill.

“Verified by” on a work entry means a person at that brand confirmed the entry. Folio does not itself guarantee the work or the figures in it.

Follower numbers you enter yourself are shown as self-reported.

What you must not do

When using Folio you must not:

  • impersonate anyone, or misstate who you work for;
  • upload content you have no right to use;
  • post unlawful, hateful, sexually explicit or fraudulent content;
  • contact creators with offers that are not genuine;
  • scrape the directory or access Folio by automated means;
  • try to break or get around Folio's security or verification;
  • use Folio to launder money or evade sanctions.

Your content

You own what you put on Folio.

You give Folio a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to host, store, resize, display and share your content as needed to run the service, for as long as it is on Folio. You can remove it at any time.

If you send us feedback, we may use it freely.

Folio Pro

Pro is bought for one period, a month or a year, at the price shown when you pay.

Pro does not renew by itself: you are not charged again unless you choose to pay again. When it ends, your portfolio stops being public and your content is kept.

Refunds: ask at tomiwaoluyi@gmail.com within 14 days of paying. You get a refund if you have not published a portfolio in that time; otherwise refunds are at our discretion or where the law requires one.

Payments between brands and creators

Brands can pay creators through Folio using a payment provider. Folio takes a platform fee, which is shown before the brand pays.

Payouts go to the bank account the creator gives us, and can be delayed by the payment provider's checks.

You are responsible for your own taxes.

Work agreed between users

Folio introduces brands and creators. Folio is not a party to any agreement between them and does not employ creators.

Folio is not responsible for the work, its quality, or either side's failure to pay or deliver outside Folio.

Suspension and closing

You can close your account by emailing tomiwaoluyi@gmail.com.

We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, puts others at risk, or fails verification. We will tell you why, unless the law prevents it.

Money already owed to a creator is still paid, unless it is linked to fraud.

The service

Folio is provided as it is. We work to keep it running, but we do not promise that it will always be available or free of errors, or that using it will bring you work.

Limits of liability

To the extent the law allows, the operator is not liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for loss of profit, earnings or data.

The operator's total liability is limited to the amount you paid Folio in the 12 months before the claim, or the equivalent of US$50 if that is greater.

Nothing in these terms limits liability that the law does not allow to be limited, including liability for fraud.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, and its courts have jurisdiction.

If you are a consumer living elsewhere, you keep any protections your own law gives you that cannot be waived.

Changes

We may change these terms. When we do, the date at the top changes, and for a significant change we email you at least 14 days before it applies.

If you keep using Folio after a change applies, you accept the changed terms.
